Escabeche is termed as whether a poached or a fried fish marinated in a sweet and sour mixture. It can also be prepared with spices and herbs in order to make it more delicious and attractive. Tilapia (my favorite!), red snapper or even mackerel would fit perfectly as the main ingredient of this Filipino Recipe or cuisine. Here’s my mother’s special recipe for this Fish Filipino Recipe! Remember this can be any kind of fish depending on what you like. We love it with tilapia.

Ingredients:

2 whole fish
1 pc. Ginger cut into strips
3 tbsp. sesame oil
cooking oil for Frying
1pc. onion diced
5 cloves of garlic chopped
1 tsp. black pepper
1 pc. onion cut into rings
1 pc carrot cut into thin strips
½ cup vinegar
1tbsp brown sugar
1 tsp salt
1 tbsp. corn starch
